If you’re interested in orthodontic treatment, you may be wondering if it’s safe to get treatment from an orthodontist like Dr. Davina Bailey during the COVID-19 outbreak. Can you really stay safe while straightening your teeth with braces or Invisalign in Woodbridge?
The answer is “yes!” We’re taking a lot of different steps to protect you and your oral health at Bailey Orthodontics. Read on to see how you can get the orthodontic treatment you need in a safe environment.
Social Distancing & Patient Check-Ins At Our Office
We are doing our best to maintain social distancing at our office by leaving plenty of time between each patient’s appointment to reduce the number of people in our waiting area at any given time.
In addition to this, we are asking that you come alone to your appointment unless you’re supervising a child or require assistance getting into and out of our office, and that you wear a face covering to protect yourself and our staff members.
You also will have to fill out a brief questionnaire before your appointment, regarding any potential exposure to COVID-19 and symptoms you’ve experienced, and recent travel. These measure ensure we only treat patients who are healthy and have not been exposed to the virus.
PPE For All Staff & Dental Team Members
All of our front office staff are wearing face masks to protect themselves from exposure, and our dental staff are wearing additional PPE when treating patients such as face shields, gowns, caps, and shoe coverings when appropriate.
Proper Handwashing & Infection Control
We have trained our team members at Bailey Orthodontics on proper infection control procedures and handwashing, which is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of viruses and infectious diseases like COVID-19.
We also ask that our patients wash their hands in the bathroom when coming into our office for an appointment, or use provided hand sanitizer to clean their hands before seeing our dental team members for their appointment.
Enhanced Cleaning Of Operatories & Common Areas
We have always cleaned our operatories thoroughly to meet all CDC, OSHA, and ADA requirements, and this includes sanitizing hard surfaces, disposing of or reprocessing used PPE and dental tools, and using barriers to cover up hard-to-clean surfaces.
We also have begun wiping down countertops, doorknobs, bathrooms, chairs, tables, and other commonly-touched items and surfaces to reduce the risk of spreading viruses and bacteria.
